Winter hikes in the mountains of Alta Badia
While the numerous slopes of the ski resort are populated with thousands of skiers you can enjoy the peaceful and unspoiled winter landscape. Enjoy this landscape of rare beauty during an unforgettable hike through powder snow.
Alta Badia offers more than 80 km of sign-posted winter hikes. Some of the excursions directly connect the five villages of the ski resort.
These are two of the most beautiful excursions:
to the Störes meadows in S. Cassiano:
Leaving from Armentarola / S. Cassiano near the cross-country track you follow the path until a right turn-off to the Störes meadows, alpine pastures covered in metre-high snow.
After approximately 2 hours of waling you reach Pralongià with various huts;
the "Via del Cacciatore" (hunter's path) in Corvara:
Leaving from Hotel Planac in Corvara you follow the path to the right of the chairlift. Through the forest the path leads to Incisa with various huts. These routes are also ideal for sledging.
The Tourism Board offers the following guided excursions on a weekly basis:
- visit to Ladin farms
- guided alpine ski and off-slope tours
- outings on horse-drawn sleighs
- snow-shoe hikes to the Störes meadows
- excursions with snow poles by moonlight
- In the Tourism Board you can get a winter hiking map.
